  • High Dielectric Strength
  • 69 kV Splicing Scope

Product Description

Scotch Linerless Rubber Splicing Tape 130C is a black, linerless self-fusing EPR rubber splicing tape for primary insulation in cable splice and termination work. Its 0.76 +/- 0.076 mm construction combines an ethylene-propylene rubber backing with a fusible adhesive interlayer and is applied in highly stretched, half-lapped layers to build a uniform winding. The tape is rated for 90 deg C operation and 130 deg C emergency overload, with minimum dielectric strength of 27.6 kV/mm under ASTM D4325 test conditions. It is used for supported outdoor and underground electrical connections, including installations up to 69 kV when the specified application method and system conditions are met.

Key features

  • Self-fusing EPR construction: The linerless backing and fusible interlayer combine under stretch to build a uniform insulating wrap.
  • Electrical insulation performance: Minimum dielectric strength is 700 V/mil (27.6 kV/mm) under the stated ASTM D4325 condition.
  • Defined temperature ratings: The tape is rated for 90 deg C operation and 130 deg C emergency overload under ASTM D4388 Type III.

Applications

Applications include primary insulation for cable splices and terminations, plus supported outdoor and underground electrical connections in installations up to 69 kV.
