Product Description
LOCTITE® ABLESTIK 2143D is a two-component, medium-viscosity epoxy adhesive for industrial bonding and sealing applications requiring toughness, impact resistance, and electrical insulation. The amber system mixes at a 100:100 resin-to-hardener ratio by weight and bonds most metals, rigid plastics, ceramics, glass, leather, rubber, wood, and concrete. The mixed adhesive has a typical viscosity of 38,000 mPa·s at 25°C and can cure for 24 to 72 hours at 25°C or 4 hours at 65°C. Typical cured properties include a -60 to 100°C operating-temperature range, volume resistivity of 1 × 1014 ohm-cm at 25°C, and aluminum lap shear strength of 15 N/mm².
Key features
- Tough, impact-resistant bonding: The cured epoxy has a typical Izod impact strength of 1.14 ft-lb/in of notch and is documented for thermal-shock resistance.
- Electrical insulation: Typical cured volume resistivity is 1 × 1014 ohm-cm at 25°C, with dielectric strength of 460 V/mil.
- Room-temperature or heat cure: Guideline cure schedules include 24 to 72 hours at 25°C or 4 hours at 65°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Industrial bonding and sealing
- Bonding most metals, rigid plastics, ceramics, and glass
