Product Description
LOCTITE® ABLESTIK 45 LV is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy adhesive for general assembly bonding of metals, glass, and plastics, including dissimilar substrate combinations such as metal-to-plastic assemblies. Used with LOCTITE® CAT 15LV, the system supports rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible formulations through resin-to-hardener mix ratios of 100:25, 100:50, or 100:100 by weight. Mixed viscosity ranges from 16,000 to 30,000 mPa·s, depending on the selected formulation, with guideline room-temperature and accelerated heat-cure schedules. The cured formulations provide electrical insulation, thermal conductivity of 0.4 W/(m·K), and formulation-dependent mechanical flexibility and operating-temperature capability.
Key features
- Variable cured flexibility: Rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible formulations are produced using documented 100:25, 100:50, and 100:100 resin-to-hardener ratios by weight.
- Low-viscosity assembly bonding: Mixed viscosity ranges from 16,000 to 30,000 mPa·s, depending on formulation.
- Room-temperature or heat cure: Guideline schedules range from 16 to 24 hours at 25°C to 30 to 60 minutes at 90°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- General assembly bonding
- Bonding metals, glass, and plastics
- Bonding dissimilar substrates such as metal to plastic
- Assemblies requiring rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible cured adhesive behavior
