Product Description
CoolTherm® SC-6711 WHT Silicone Encapsulant is a white thermally conductive silicone resin formulated for use with CoolTherm® SC-6731, CoolTherm® SC-6730, or Circalok™ 6732 hardener. The resin has a typical 30,000 cP viscosity at 25°C and 2.2 specific gravity. Hardener selection changes the resin-to-hardener ratio, working life, and room-temperature cure schedule. Supported combinations range from 100:0.5 to 100:5 by weight, with working lives from less than 0.5 hour to 2–3 hours at 25°C and room-temperature cures from 6–8 hours to 12–16 hours. Typical cured properties, stated as common across the supported hardeners, include 1.0 W/m·K thermal conductivity, 60 Shore A hardness, 19.7 kV/mm dielectric strength, and 1 × 1014 ohm-cm volume resistivity.

CoolTherm® SC-6711 WHT Silicone Encapsulant
SC-6711 WHT is a white thermally conductive silicone resin that becomes a two-component encapsulant when combined with SC-6731, SC-6730, or Circalok™ 6732 hardener. The hardener choice controls mix ratio, working life, and room-temperature cure while the published cured-property set remains common across the supported combinations.
SC-6711 WHT resin properties
| Property | Typical value | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance | White paste | Resin before hardener addition. |
| Viscosity at 25°C | 30,000 cP | Resin-only value. |
| Specific gravity | 2.2 | Typical resin value. |
Select the hardener first, then meter, mix, minimise air, apply, and cure
Thoroughly remix SC-6711 WHT in its shipping container, weigh the required resin quantity, add the selected hardener at its documented usage level, and mix thoroughly. SC-6730 is blue-green to support visual confirmation of mixing. Use direct pouring, handheld cartridges, or automatic meter/mix/dispense equipment, and complete encapsulation within the applicable working life.
- Minimise bubbles and voids; vacuuming may be appropriate for extremely high-voltage or critical applications.
- Avoid high humidity during cure.
- Do not interchange hardener ratios or cure schedules.
| Hardener | Resin:hardener by weight | Working life at 25°C | Cure at 25°C |
|---|---|---|---|
| CoolTherm SC-6731 | 100:0.5 | 1–2 hours | 12–16 hours |
| CoolTherm SC-6730 | 100:3 | 2–3 hours | 12–16 hours |
| CoolTherm SC-6730 | 100:5 | 0.5–1 hour | 8–12 hours |
| Circalok™ 6732 | 100:0.5 | Less than 0.5 hour | 6–8 hours |
Storage and industrial handling
SC-6711 WHT resin has a six-month shelf life when stored at 25°C in its original unopened container. The supplied EHS identifier did not resolve to readable product-specific safety content. Final publication and use therefore require the current regional resin SDS, the selected hardener SDS, and product labels. Use trained industrial personnel and the required ventilation, personal protection, spill, storage, and waste controls.
Thermal, mechanical, dimensional, and electrical properties
DS3572 states that the following typical cured properties are the same regardless of the supported hardener used. They are bulk-material values, not finished-assembly thermal resistance or working-voltage ratings.
| Property | Typical value | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal conductivity | 1.0 W/m·K | Hot Disc Transient Method, ISO 22007-2. |
| Coefficient of linear thermal expansion | 150 ppm/°C | ASTM D696. |
| Hardness | 60 Shore A | Flexible cured silicone. |
| Tensile strength at 25°C | 5.51 MPa (800 psi) | Typical bulk-material result. |
| Elongation at break | 70% | Typical cured-material value. |
| Volume resistivity at 25°C | 1 × 1014 ohm-cm | Bulk electrical property. |
| Dielectric strength | 19.7 kV/mm (500 V/mil) | Breakdown property, not design working voltage. |

Flexible thermal encapsulation with hardener-controlled processing
SC-6711 WHT is directly positioned for potting applications requiring rapid heat transfer, high-temperature service, and a flexible silicone system. Final selection must account for the chosen hardener, exact ratio, working life, humidity during cure, fill depth, void tolerance, voltage, thermal path, interfaces, repairability, and environmental exposure.
Potting & Encapsulation Materials Catalogue — PC3002
PC3002 lists the SC-6711 WHT/6731 combination at 100:0.5 by weight, 12–16 hours at 25°C, 60 Shore A, 19.7 kV/mm dielectric strength, and 1.0 W/m·K thermal conductivity. The catalogue does not replace DS3572 for the SC-6730 or Circalok 6732 configurations.
