DOWSIL 282
Harmonization Code : 8001.20 | Unwrought tin: Tin alloys

Main features
- High-Adhesion Tape Formulation
- 55-57% Active Silicone Content
- Cured-Film Electrical Insulation
Product Description
DOWSIL 282 Adhesive is a high-viscosity silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive dispersion for coating backing materials used in masking, plating and related tape constructions. The xylene-diluted product contains 55-57% active ingredient and has a typical viscosity range of 30,000-80,000 cP at 25 deg C, supporting conventional tape-coating processes. Solvent removal and controlled peroxide-catalyzed heat cure develop the balance of tack, adhesive strength and cohesive strength required in the converted adhesive film. Cured-film electrical values apply to a 2 mil adhesive film on an aluminum panel after 96 hours at 23 deg C and 50% relative humidity.
Key features
- 55-57% active ingredient: Provides a concentrated silicone adhesive dispersion for tape coating.
- High-viscosity coating control: Typical viscosity is 30,000-80,000 cP at 25 deg C.
- Cured-film electrical data: Electrical values apply to a conditioned 2 mil film on aluminum.
Applications
Masking and plating tapes and other pressure-sensitive adhesive constructions requiring high adhesion.
