Main features
- 55 to 260 deg C Service Range
- Aviation-Fuel, Fuel, and Solvent Resistance
- Aerospace Sealing Application
Product Description
DOWSIL™ Q4-2817 Fluorosilicone Sealant is a one-part, ready-to-use, high-strength solventless fluorosilicone elastomer paste that cures at room temperature to form a tough, rubbery solid. Developed for equipment exposed to solvents, oil, and fuels, this sealant protects surfaces from erosion and corrosion while maintaining flexibility across a broad temperature range of -55°C to +260°C. It is highly suitable for evaluation in aerospace applications, including the critical sealing of aircraft fuel tanks.
Key features
- Fluid resistance: Retains its physical properties when exposed to aviation fuels, oils, and solvents.
- Environmental stability: Offers excellent resistance to weathering, moisture, ozone, and extreme temperatures from -55°C to +260°C.
- Easy application: Features a one-part, room-temperature curing system that adheres well to most materials.
Applications / Suitable for
- Sealing aircraft fuel tanks
- Bonding or sealing components exposed to moisture, vibration, shock, fuel, and solvents
- Protecting surfaces exposed to fuel from erosion and corrosion
