Product Description
CONAP® AD-1147 Adhesive Primer is a high-strength, solvent-borne adhesive primer for bonding liquid polyurethane compounds to inorganic and organic substrates during cure. The amber polymer solution is documented for aluminum alloys, magnesium, iron, steel, glass, glass-fiber laminates, wood, and leather. It may be applied by brush, spray, roller coating, or doctor blade and requires heat activation before the liquid urethane is introduced. Typical as-supplied properties include 2,000 cP viscosity, 24% solids content, and 0.90 specific gravity at 25°C.
Key features
- Liquid-urethane bonding primer: The primer is formulated to bond polyurethane compounds to prepared substrates during cure.
- Broad substrate coverage: Documented substrates include metals, glass, glass-fiber laminates, wood, and leather.
- Heat-activated film: The applied primer is activated by baking for one to two hours at 82°C to 93°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Priming metals for liquid polyurethane bonding
- Priming glass and glass-fiber laminates
- Priming wood and leather for polyurethane overmolding
