Product Description

EUREMELT 3413 is a black copolyamide thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive supplied as granules for low-pressure injection molding around electrical and electronic devices. It combines a specified softening point of 150–160 °C with a specified melt-viscosity range of 2.8–4.0 Pa·s at 210 °C. The material is applied at 180–220 °C and provides flexible molded encapsulation, including low-temperature flexibility to −35 °C. It adheres to PVC and other plastics and is used where low-pressure molding must form a protective molded body around components, connectors, wiring, or related assemblies. Typical electrical properties include 23 kV/mm dielectric strength, 3 × 1012 Ω·cm specific resistance, and CTI 600.

Melt, inject, cool, and demold

The granulated material is thermally melted and injected around the electrical or electronic assembly using a low-pressure molding process. EUREMELT 3413 does not require reactive mixing or chemical cure; the molded part develops through cooling after injection.

Application temperature: 180–220 °C.
Open time on paper: 6–10 seconds at 23 °C after application at 200 °C; typical.
Open time, canal method: 20–28 seconds at 23 °C after application at 200 °C; typical.
Setting time: 1–3 seconds on Nora test rubber at 23 °C after application at 200 °C; typical.

Low-pressure molding applications

EUREMELT 3413 is positioned as a standard, broadly applicable grade for low-pressure molding. Final suitability depends on the component design, materials, molding conditions, and end-use requirements.

Low-pressure molded printed circuit assembly or sensor protected within a thermoplastic polyamide body
Printed circuit assemblies and sensors
The low-pressure molding process can surround delicate electronic assemblies without a reactive cure step. The grade’s controlled melt viscosity and electrical insulation data are relevant when evaluating molded protection around boards, sensors, or related components.
Electrical connector or wire harness overmolded with black low-pressure molding material
Connectors and wire harnesses
EUREMELT materials are used in low-pressure molding of automotive and industrial connectors, cable bundles, and electrical wire harnesses. EUREMELT 3413 provides a black flexible molded body and documented adhesion to PVC and other plastics.
Coil, relay, transformer, or microswitch encapsulated by low-pressure thermoplastic molding
Coils, relays, and compact electrical devices
The product family is used for coils, relays, microswitches, transformers, and other electrical devices. The 3413 grade’s flexibility, fast-setting thermoplastic behavior, and insulation properties support evaluation for these molded component formats.
