Product Description

INSULCAST® RTVS A-4000 Silicone Adhesive is a two-component, solvent-based silicone resin adhesive for bonding silicones, Mylar, metals, and selected engineering plastics. The light-straw Part A and clear Part B are mixed at 100:3.3 by weight to produce a typical mixed viscosity of 900 to 2,500 cP. The adhesive is documented for lap-shear and peel performance at elevated temperature and retains flexibility from -73°C to 260°C. It may cure for one to four days at room temperature or be accelerated with an eight-hour cure at 200°C.

Key features

  • Elevated-temperature bonding: The adhesive retains flexibility from -73°C to 260°C.
  • Silicone and film adhesion: Documented substrates include silicones, Mylar, metals, and engineering plastics.
  • Low mixed viscosity: Typical mixed viscosity is 900 to 2,500 cP.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Bonding silicone materials
  • Bonding Mylar and metal assemblies
  • High-temperature engineering-plastic bonding
