LOCTITE 414

Main features

  • Low-Viscosity General Bonding
  • Fast Rubber and Plastic Fixturing
  • Strong Thin-Gap Metal Bonds

Product Description

LOCTITE 414 is a one-part, low-viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate instant adhesive for general-purpose bonding of plastics, rubbers, and metals. The transparent, colorless-to-straw liquid requires no mixing and cures with atmospheric moisture. At 22 deg C and 50% relative humidity, fixture times are under 5 seconds on neoprene and nitrile rubber, 2 to 10 seconds on aluminum, ABS, and PVC, and 15 to 30 seconds on degreased steel. After 24 hours at 22 deg C, grit-blasted steel lap shear strength is 18 to 26 N/mm^2. The adhesive performs best in thin 0.05 mm bond gaps.

Key features

  • Low-Viscosity General Bonding: The liquid flows into thin, close-fitting joints on plastics, rubbers, and metals.
  • Fast Rubber and Plastic Fixture: Neoprene and nitrile fixture in under 5 seconds; ABS and PVC fixture in 2 to 10 seconds.
  • Strong Thin-Gap Metal Bonds: Grit-blasted steel lap shear strength reaches 18 to 26 N/mm^2 after 24 hours.

Applications / Suitable for

  • General-purpose plastic bonding
  • Rubber and elastomer bonding
  • Thin-gap metal assembly
