Main features
- Low-Odor Low-Blooming Cure
- Very Fast Porous-Substrate Fixturing
- Low-Viscosity Vapor-Controlled Bonding
Product Description
LOCTITE 460 is a transparent, low-viscosity alkoxyethyl cyanoacrylate instant adhesive with low-odor and low-blooming characteristics. The one-part liquid bonds metals, plastics, elastomers, and porous or absorbent materials and is particularly relevant where vapor control is difficult. A viscosity of 25 to 55 mPa s supports rapid wetting and thin bondlines. Fixture time can be under 5 seconds on ABS, nitrile rubber, neoprene, phenolic, or paper, with longer times on some metals and plastics. Full chemical and solvent resistance develops after at least 24 hours.
Key features
- Low-odor low-blooming cure: The alkoxyethyl cyanoacrylate chemistry limits odor and visible blooming where vapor control is difficult.
- Rapid porous-material fixture: Paper and several other tested substrates fixture in less than 5 seconds under documented conditions.
- Low-viscosity thin-gap flow: A 25 to 55 mPa s viscosity supports fast wetting of close-fitting assemblies.
Applications / Suitable for
- Bonding where odor and blooming control are important
- Rapid assembly of metals, plastics, and elastomers
- Bonding wood, paper, leather, and fabric
