- Room-Temperature Aircraft Bonding Cure
Product Description
LOCTITE® EA 9360 AERO is a two-component, toughened epoxy paste adhesive that cures at room temperature and combines high room-temperature peel strength with tensile lap shear performance at elevated temperatures. Its low-slump consistency supports controlled application, while the 50-minute pot life at 77°F (25°C), 200 g mass, provides time for mixing and assembly. The adhesive develops handling strength after 24 hours at 77°F (25°C) and reaches normal performance after a 5–7 day room-temperature cure. Accelerated curing may be used for small masses, including 1 hour at 180°F (82°C). It is also available in dual-cartridge packaging for two-component dispensing.
Key features
- High peel strength: Delivers a typical floating-roller peel strength of 68 lb/in (303 N/25 mm) after 7 days at 77°F (25°C) on prepared and primed 2024-T3 AlClad aluminum.
- Elevated-temperature bond performance: Retains typical tensile lap shear strength of 2,000 psi (13.8 MPa) at 225°F (107°C) on phosphoric-acid-anodized 2024-T3 bare aluminum.
- Room-temperature or accelerated cure: Reaches normal performance after 5–7 days at 77°F (25°C), with accelerated cures up to 200°F (93°C) available for small adhesive masses.
