Main features

  • Graphite- and Glass-Composite Repair
  • Hot/Wet Strength and High Shear Modulus
  • BMS 8-301 Heat-Cure Qualification

Product Description

LOCTITE® EA 9390 AERO Epoxy Paste Adhesive is a two-component, heat-curing epoxy developed for graphite- and glass-composite repair. The mixed adhesive has a typical viscosity of 100 Poise (10 Pa·s) at 77°F (25°C), supporting wetting and wet lay-up application. It combines good hot/wet strength with a high shear modulus and can be cured at temperatures from 200°F to 300°F (93°C to 149°C), depending on the required process schedule. The cured adhesive provides temperature-dependent lap shear performance on phosphoric-acid-anodized 2024-T3 bare aluminum and retains at least 1,000 psi (6.9 MPa) lap shear strength at an approximate service temperature above 350°F (177°C) under the stated ASTM D1002 test basis. The product is qualified to BMS 8-301.

Key features

  • Composite-repair formulation: Suitable as a wet lay-up resin for graphite- and glass-composite repairs.
  • Hot/wet mechanical performance: Combines good hot/wet strength with a high cured shear modulus.
  • Flexible heat-cure schedules: Supports documented cures at 200°F, 250°F, or 300°F (93°C, 121°C, or 149°C).

Applications / Suitable for

  • Graphite-composite repair
  • Glass-composite repair
