- 177 deg C Service Temperature
- MMM-A-132 Qualified Epoxy
Product Description
LOCTITE® EA 9394 AERO is a two-part, thixotropic epoxy paste adhesive for structural bonding, repair, potting, filling, and liquid-shim applications in aerospace assemblies. It cures at room temperature, provides a 90-minute typical pot life for a 450 g mass at 25°C, and may also be heat cured for faster processing. The adhesive has a defined service temperature of 177 °C based on retention of at least 6.9 MPa tensile lap shear strength under ASTM D1002 testing. It is qualified to MMM-A-132 Rev B, Type I, Class 3, Form 3, Group 1, providing a documented military-specification basis for evaluating the material for applicable structural adhesive uses.
Key features
- Two-part structural epoxy paste: Thixotropic mixed material supports controlled application, gap filling, potting, filling, and liquid-shim use.
- Flexible cure options: Develops normal performance after 3–5 days at 25 °C or may be fully cured in 1 hour at 66 °C for suitable small-mass applications.
- 90-minute typical pot life: Measured for a 450 g mixed mass at 25 °C using ASTM D2471.
- MMM-A-132 qualification: Qualified to Rev B, Type I, Class 3, Form 3, Group 1 for the specification-defined adhesive category and requirements.
Applications / Suitable for
- Aerospace structural bonding and repair involving prepared metal and honeycomb assemblies.
- Potting and filling where a thixotropic structural epoxy paste is required.
- Liquid-shim and gap-filling applications evaluated under the applicable design, process, and qualification requirements.
