LOCTITE EA 9460

Main features

  • Impact/Fatigue-Resistant Cured Epoxy
  • 40 to 65-Minute Pot Life
  • Multi-Material Metal/Thermoplastic/Laminate Bonding

Product Description

LOCTITE® EA 9460™ is a two-part, thixotropic epoxy adhesive supplied as a smooth, non-sag paste for structural bonding. The 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume supports straightforward preparation, while a typical pot life of 40 to 65 minutes at 25 °C provides extended working time for assembly. The cured adhesive combines high peel and shear strength with flexibility, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance, making it suitable for joining dissimilar materials. Recommended substrates include metals, engineering thermoplastics, and thermoset laminates such as sheet molding compound without primers. The adhesive cures at room temperature after mixing and can also be heat cured.

Key features

  • Extended working time: A typical pot life of 40 to 65 minutes at 25 °C supports positioning and assembly before cure.
  • Non-sag paste: Thixotropic consistency supports controlled dispensing and application on vertical or overhead surfaces.
  • Balanced joint performance: The cured adhesive combines high peel and shear strength with impact and fatigue resistance.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Bonding metals
  • Bonding engineering thermoplastics
  • Bonding thermoset laminates, including sheet molding compound
