Product Description
LOCTITE® SI 587™ is a one-component, room-temperature-vulcanizing oxime silicone gasket maker and sealant supplied as a metallic blue thixotropic paste. It is designed for formed-in-place gasketing, gasket dressing, and sealing applications in plant maintenance and OEM equipment, including valve covers, rocker covers, oil pans, water pumps, end seals, intake manifolds, rear axle housings, and fabricated silicone-gasket repair. The cured elastomer provides flexibility, shock absorption, adhesion to a broad range of substrates, and resistance to typical automotive engine oils.
Key features
- Flexible formed-in-place gasketing: Creates an elastomeric seal that supports load bearing, movement, and shock absorption.
- Thixotropic one-component paste: Requires no mixing and helps limit migration after application.
- Automotive oil resistance: Designed for demanding engine and equipment gasketing applications at temperatures up to 260°C.
