Main features
- 62.1 MPa Compressive Strength
- Low-Outgassing 0.01% CVCM
- Trowel or Injection Application
Product Description
LORD® 2850-A/2850-B Syntactic Foam is a two-component modified epoxy syntactic foam with a smooth, creamy consistency suited to trowel and injection application. The mixed material forms a green, thixotropic paste used to reinforce honeycomb cores and other hollow structures. After cure, it combines high compressive strength with low weight relative to volume and supports service temperatures from -320°F to 225°F (-196°C to 107°C).
Key Features
- High cured compressive strength of 9000 psi (62.1 MPa) at room temperature and 12,000 psi (82.7 MPa) at -320°F (-196°C).
- Low-outgassing cured performance with 0.98% total mass loss and 0.01% collected volatile condensable materials per ASTM E595.
- Application-friendly mixed consistency suitable for injection or spatula application, with a 30-minute working time at 77°F (25°C).
Applications / Suitable for
- Reinforcement of honeycomb cores
- Reinforcement of hollow structures
- Aerospace structures requiring low-outgassing syntactic foam
