Product Description
MOLYKOTE® 1122 Chain and Open Gear Grease is a high-performance synthetic grease formulated with a very high viscosity base oil (1,500 mm²/s at 40°C), an inorganic thickener, solid lubricants, and a specialized adhesion improver. Designed to be extremely adhesive and water-resistant, this black paste excels in lubricating slow-moving, heavily loaded sliding bearings, open gears, and chains equipped with hollow pins. It contains no intentional PTFE or PFAS and is engineered to provide emergency lubrication and exceptional wear protection under extreme pressures.

- Extreme adhesion and water resistance: The specialized adhesion improver ensures the grease remains precisely where applied, providing robust resistance against water washout in challenging environments.
- High load and wear protection: Exhibits a high four-ball weld load of 2,600 N and an Almen Wieland OK load of 18,000 N, offering superb high-pressure resistance and emergency lubrication.
- Reliable operation at elevated temperatures: Maintains strong lubricating properties over a service temperature range of 10°C to 160°C.
Applications / Suitable for
- Initial and ongoing lubrication of chains with hollow pins equipped with grease nipples, such as tenter clamp chains and food sterilizer conveyor chains
- Open gears and gear drives
- Sliding bearings operating at low speeds and high temperatures (e.g., drying systems, calendering machines)
