Product Description

MOLYKOTE® DX (S) Paste is a white to off-white, mineral-oil-based grease-paste with lithium soap, white solid lubricants, and a corrosion inhibitor for assembly and long-term lubrication of heavily loaded metallic contacts. It is intended primarily for clean lubrication at low to medium speeds and has a documented service range of -25°C to 125°C. Typical test data include a 4,800 N four-ball weld load, a 0.77 mm wear scar under 800 N for 1 hour, a 0.10 press-fit coefficient of friction with no chatter, and a 0.12 SRV fretting coefficient under the stated test conditions. Apply to clean contact points by brush, spatula, grease gun, automatic device, or central lubrication system.

MOLYKOTE® DX (S) Paste

A light-colored mineral-oil grease-paste with lithium soap, white solid lubricants, and a corrosion inhibitor. It is designed for assembly and long-term lubrication of metallic sliding contacts exposed to heavy loads at low to medium speeds, especially where clean appearance, controlled friction, and resistance to stick-slip or galling are important selection factors.

Application process

Apply to clean metallic contact points

Use conventional grease-paste application methods selected for the component geometry and maintenance process. The paste may be applied manually, by automatic lubricating equipment, or through a central lubrication system.

Prepare: Clean the intended points of contact before application.
Apply: Use a brush, spatula, grease gun, or automatic lubricating device according to the assembly and access conditions.
Central delivery: The product is suitable for delivery through a central lubricating system.
Quantity: The supplier permits excess lubrication; establish the practical amount from the contact geometry, motion, cleanliness requirement, and service condition.

 

Storage and Handling

Store between 0°C and 40°C in the original unopened container. Usable life is 60 months from the date of production. Review the current safety data and container label before handling, use adequate ventilation, and avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents.
