Product Description

MOLYKOTE® G-2008 Synthetic Tool Gear Grease is a fully synthetic specialty grease formulated with a polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oil, lithium thickener, and solid lubricants. It is intended for high-speed gears and other high-shear mechanisms, including planetary, worm, spur, and helical gears in compatible power tools and drills, as well as cables and some bearings. The NLGI Grade 2 grease uses a low-viscosity base oil and is compatible with many plastics and elastomers. Its documented wear, oil-bleed, and evaporation results support evaluation where friction control, shear exposure, and lubricant retention are important selection considerations.

MOLYKOTE® G-2008 Synthetic Tool Gear Grease

A fully synthetic PAO-based, lithium-thickened grease with solid lubricants for high-speed gears and other high-shear mechanisms. The NLGI Grade 2 formulation is compatible with many plastics and elastomers and can be applied using conventional grease-handling equipment.

Application

Application and processing

Apply MOLYKOTE® G-2008 using conventional grease application methods. Select the dispensing approach and lubricant quantity for the intended component, contact geometry, speed, load, materials, and operating conditions.

Storage and handling

Store in the original unopened container at or below 40°C. Under these conditions, the documented usable life is 18 months from the date of production. Keep containers properly labelled, follow the applicable safety data sheet and container label, use adequate ventilation, and avoid storage with strong oxidizing agents.
