Product Description

MOLYKOTE® PA-744 Anti-Friction Coating is a charcoal-gray, heat-cured dry-film lubricant containing graphite and molybdenum disulfide in an organic resin-solvent system. Formulated for screen-print application, it creates a long-term lubricating film for pistons used in automotive air-conditioning compressors, gasoline and diesel engines, pumps, and pneumatic or hydraulic systems. A recommended cured film thickness of 10–20 µm supports controlled coating application. The cured coating operates from −75°C to 300°C and provides high wear resistance, load-carrying capability, and resistance to motor oils under the documented conditions.

Key features

  • Screen-print application: Formulated for controlled deposition by screen printing.
  • Thin cured film: Recommended cured coating thickness is 10–20 µm.
  • Wide operating-temperature range: The cured coating operates from −75°C to 300°C.
  • Wear and load protection: Provides an extreme-wear-resistant coating with high load-carrying capacity.
  • Motor-oil resistance: Offers documented resistance to motor oils.
  • Run-in lubrication: Helps reduce piston and cylinder-wall wear during initial run-in and cold-start conditions.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Automotive air-conditioning compressor pistons
  • Gasoline and diesel engine pistons
  • Pistons used in pumps
  • Pneumatic-system pistons
  • Hydraulic-system pistons
  • Metal components requiring screen-printed dry-film lubrication
