STYCAST 1217

Main features

  • Low-Viscosity Coil Impregnation
  • Catalyst-Selectable Working Window
  • Clear Inspection-Friendly Encapsulation

Product Description

LOCTITE STYCAST 1217 Epoxy Encapsulant is a clear-to-amber, unfilled low-viscosity epoxy resin for impregnation and encapsulation of small electrical and electronic devices. It can be combined with CAT 9 or CAT 11 to provide different processing windows, with typical mixed viscosity of approximately 500 to 600 cP and working life ranging from about 45 minutes to more than four hours. The cured system provides Shore D hardness of approximately 86 to 88 and high volume resistivity. Its clear appearance supports visual inspection in small coils, transformers, and related assemblies.

Key features

  • Low-viscosity impregnation: Typical mixed viscosity of 500 to 600 cP supports flow into small spaces.
  • Catalyst-selectable work life: CAT 9 and CAT 11 provide different working and service-temperature ranges.
  • Clear inspection-friendly system: The unfilled resin supports visual examination of encapsulated components.

Applications

Applications include impregnation and encapsulation of small coils, transformers, and electrical or electronic devices requiring low-viscosity flow and visual inspection.
