STYCAST 2057

Main features

  • Low-Abrasion Meter-Mix Processing
  • Machine-Dispensable Epoxy Encapsulation
  • Post-Molding Machining Capability

Product Description

LOCTITE STYCAST 2057 Epoxy Encapsulant is a black, filled low-viscosity epoxy system for general-purpose encapsulation with machine dispensing and post-molding machining. The resin has a typical viscosity of 5,500 cP at 25 deg C and is used with CAT 9 at 100:7.5 by weight. A soft filler supports rapid air release, reduces abrasion in meter-mix equipment, and improves machinability after cure. The final material provides high hardness, low water absorption, electrical insulation, and continuous service from -40 to 130 deg C, with documented intermittent exposure to 150 deg C.

Key features

  • Low-abrasion processing: The soft filler reduces wear in meter-mix dispensing equipment.
  • Rapid air release: The formulation supports efficient machine dispensing and encapsulation.
  • Post-molding machinability: The cured material can be machined for secondary finishing.

Applications

Applications include machine-dispensed general-purpose potting and encapsulation where rapid air release and post-cure machining are required.
