3M Scotch-Seal Metal Sealant 2084 is a one-part, aluminum-colored, medium-viscosity sealant for bonding and sealing aluminum to glass, other metals, and wood. The acetone-based material applies without mixing and air dries to a tough, flexible film that resists water, oil, and fuel. Typical tack-free time is 5 minutes, with approximately 24 hours to dry and gap-filling capability to 1/16 in. The cured sealant retains internal integrity and can be painted after skinning; painting after cure is recommended for areas exposed to ultraviolet light. It supports general industrial sealing, metalworking, and aluminum-to-glass assembly where a flexible fluid-resistant seal is required.
