Product Description
EPOCAST® 1617 A/B is a two-component, low-density epoxy syntactic compound for edge sealing honeycomb structures. The mixed paste has a typical density of 0.70 g/cc and cures to an off-white, self-extinguishing material. A 100:20 resin-to-hardener mix ratio by weight and a typical 60–90 minute gel time for a 50 g mass at 25°C support manual preparation and placement. Cure options include seven days at 25°C or room-temperature gel followed by five hours at 52°C. Typical cured data include 6.9 MPa aluminum-to-aluminum lap shear and 37.9 MPa compressive strength at 25°C.
