EPOCAST 1619-1

Main features

  • Flame-Retardant Epoxy Syntactic
  • Room-Temperature Encapsulation Cure
  • Pourable/Extrudable Mixed Processing

Product Description

EPOCAST® 1619-1 A/B FR Epoxy Syntactic is a two-component, low-density, flame-retardant epoxy syntactic formulated for potting fasteners in honeycomb structures. The mixed off-white semi-paste has a density of ≤0.70 g/cm³ and can be poured or extruded through a 1/8 in. (3 mm) nozzle for placement in lightweight aerospace assemblies. It can be cured at room temperature or with a moderate elevated-temperature cycle and is qualified to Boeing BMS5-28, Type 19. The cured material resists water, fungus, and most aircraft fluids and provides documented insert pull-out and torque-out performance.

Key features

  • Low-density mixed system: Mixed density of ≤0.70 g/cm³ supports weight-sensitive honeycomb and aerospace structures.
  • Pourable and extrudable application: The mixed semi-paste delivers ≥250 g/min through a 1/8 in. nozzle under the BMS5-28 test method.
  • Aerospace-qualified flame resistance: Qualified to Boeing BMS5-28, Type 19, with a passing 12-second vertical-burn result and no dripping.
