Main features

  • Low-Thermal-Expansion Epoxy Syntactic
  • Composite-Core Reinforcement Compound
  • BMS 5-21 Type 2 Qualification

Product Description

EPOCAST® 1627-2 is a one-part, filled epoxy syntactic compound for fabricating and reinforcing composite structures. Supplied frozen as gray patties or in Semco cartridges, it is ready to apply after thawing and requires no weighing or mixing. The cured material combines a typical compressive strength of 30.0 ksi (207 MPa) at 77°F (25°C) with a low coefficient of thermal expansion of 11.2 × 10⁻⁶ in/in/°F (20.2 × 10⁻⁶ in/in/°C). Multiple heat-cure options support processing flexibility, and the product is qualified to BMS 5-21, Type 2.

Key features

  • Ready-to-use one-part format: Applies after thawing without component weighing or mixing.
  • High compressive strength: Provides a typical cured compressive strength of 30.0 ksi (207 MPa) at 77°F (25°C).
  • Low thermal expansion: Features a typical coefficient of thermal expansion of 11.2 × 10⁻⁶ in/in/°F (20.2 × 10⁻⁶ in/in/°C).
