Main features
- Low-Viscosity Encapsulation Application
- Room-Temperature Encapsulation Cure
- 200 to 300 cP Mixed Viscosity
Product Description
INSULCAST® 502 Epoxy Casting Resin is a clear, unfilled, low-viscosity epoxy resin for general-purpose casting, electrical encapsulation, and impregnation. The resin may be combined with INSULCURE 9 for room-temperature processing or INSULCURE 11B for heat-cure systems with higher temperature capability. Typical resin viscosity is 700 cP at 25°C, while mixed viscosity is approximately 200 cP with INSULCURE 9 or 300 cP with INSULCURE 11B. The selected hardener determines pot life, cure schedule, heat-distortion point, service range, and final mechanical properties.
Key features
- Low-viscosity clear resin: Typical resin viscosity is 700 cP at 25°C.
- Two hardener pathways: INSULCURE 9 supports room-temperature cure, while INSULCURE 11B supports heat cure and higher temperature use.
- Electrical insulation: Typical cured volume resistivity is 2 × 10¹⁵ ohm·cm for both documented systems.
Applications / Suitable for
- General-purpose casting
- Electrical encapsulation
- Coil and transformer impregnation
