Greases
MOLYKOTE greases combine a lubricating fluid, thickener, and performance additives or solid lubricants to stay in place where a flowing oil is not practical. The portfolio spans general machinery lubrication, high-load and severe-duty service, wide-temperature applications, chemically demanding environments, and low-noise or precision-bearing duties. Selection should account for load, environment, temperature, speed, relubrication interval, base-oil chemistry, thickener system, and compatibility with nearby metals, plastics, elastomers, or process media.
Oils & Fluids
MOLYKOTE oils and fluids provide flowing lubrication for gears, gearboxes, pumps, chains, compressors, vacuum equipment, slides, and other machinery where circulation, penetration, or controlled fluid delivery is preferred over a grease. The portfolio includes mineral and synthetic base-fluid technologies. Selection should consider viscosity, operating temperature, load and speed, oxidation or corrosion exposure, equipment design, material compatibility, and any process-specific requirements.
Pastes
MOLYKOTE pastes are greaselike lubricants with a high concentration of solid lubricants for assembly, running-in, anti-seize, and heavily loaded metal contact. They are commonly considered for threaded connections, press fits, splines, gears, and other slow-moving or startup contacts where the carrier oil may be displaced but a solid lubricating film is still needed. Product selection should consider substrate metallurgy, load, temperature, corrosion exposure, required friction behavior, and assembly or disassembly requirements.
Compounds
MOLYKOTE compounds are greaselike silicone-based materials used where lubrication and sealing, release, electrical insulation, moisture resistance, or compatibility with rubber and plastics may be required. The category extends beyond release compounds to include valve and seal lubrication, O-ring assembly, dielectric moisture barriers, noncuring sealing functions, and selected plastic or elastomer lubrication duties. Confirm product-specific compatibility and any regulatory or process requirements for the intended application.
Anti-Friction Coatings
MOLYKOTE anti-friction coatings are bonded dry-film lubricants containing solid lubricants dispersed in resin and solvent systems. After application and curing, they form a thin lubricating film on the component surface and are used where a clean, dry lubricant is preferred, where dust or contamination makes wet lubrication undesirable, or where relubrication access is limited. Coating choice depends on substrate, surface preparation, application method, cure requirements, film thickness, load, motion, and service environment.
Dispersions
MOLYKOTE dispersions suspend finely divided solid lubricants in a liquid carrier so the lubricant can be applied by liquid methods, including automatic dispensing where appropriate. They are used for dry-film lubrication of sliding contacts, lubrication of chains, conveyors and bearings in demanding temperature conditions, selected cutting or sewing operations, release applications, and other specialty processes. Selection should consider carrier chemistry, evaporation or residue behavior, application equipment, surface material, required film, temperature, and process compatibility.
